The fund, which was established after the horrific incident at Grande’s show on May 22, has raised more than $23 million. A portion of the money was generated through the singer’s One Love Manchester concert which featured such acts as Liam Gallagher, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus. Grande also donated the proceeds from a special re-release of her song “One Last Time” along with a cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

“The payments will ensure the families benefit from the phenomenal outpouring of public support following the attack,” the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund explained in a press release (via Billboard).

“The city and the world responded with such extreme kindness, generosity and solidarity in the aftermath of the Manchester Arena attack,” explained Councillor Sue Murphy, the fund’s chair of trustees. “We will now spend some time looking at how we will distribute the rest of the funds. This will be a complex and sensitive process as we will need to assess the long-term impacts of the attack. We will issue an update as soon as we know more.”

President Donald Trump incited outrage on Tuesday (Aug. 15) during a press conference, in which he discussed the deadly rally held by white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend. In his speech, he condemned the violence “on many sides” and likened the “alt-left” to the KKK and neo-Nazis.

“I think there’s blame on both sides and I have no doubt about it,” Trump said during the press conference. “What about the alt-left that came charging at, as you say, the alt-right? Do they have any semblance of guilt? I think they do.”

Many artists were appalled by these comments, in which Trump seemed to be comparing neo-Nazis to those gathered to protest against individuals with hateful, violent views. The musicians shared their anger and distaste for Trump on social media, urging Americans to stand up for what is right.

Chris Brown is extremely candid in a new documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life. In an 11-minute clip uploaded to Facebook, the singer discusses the fight he had with Rihanna inside a Lamborghini the night before the GRAMMY Awards, at which she was found beaten. As Brown recalls, they had an argument over another woman he had previously slept with, who had attended the same pre-GRAMMYs party.

“She starts going off, she throws the phone, ‘I hate you!’” he recalls. “She starts hitting me. We’re in a little Lamborghini, you know she’s fighting me. I remember she tried to kick me, just like her beating s—, but then I really hit her. With a closed fist, I punched her, and it busted her lip, and when I saw it I was in shock, I was like ‘f—, why did I hit her like that?’”

Brown remembers Rihanna spitting blood in his face and his anger increased.

“It’s a real fight in the car, and we driving in the street,” he says. “She grabbed my nuts. And when she did that, I bite her arm while I’m still trying to drive.”

Today, looking at a photo of her with a swollen face and bruises on her head and lip, Brown is devastated. “That’s not me. I hate it to this day,” he admits. “That’s going to haunt me forever.”

Reflecting on the fight and their rapid rise to fame as teenagers, Brown says it was a bad combination.

“Real life rock stars at 16, 17 years old. That’s dangerous because you can do anything you want,” he admits. “We were the perfect and bad combination.”
